Re: The Limbo Locker - welcome to my house

Quite a lot of things are out in plain sight. God help any unused horizontal surface. The house is clean - no pizza crusts or things like that - but clutter? Oh, yeah.

The bitch is that this card reader box was, until just now, one of those "on the shelf in plain sight" things.

What probably happened is when I got distracted from one sorting job by some other job, I set it down "somewhere." How many times have you come into the house with a tool or something in your hand, and some new urgent situation comes up, so you unconciously set that tool down wherever you happen to be right then...and then forget where. This sucks a lot because the place you put it is usually somewhere you would never put it on purpose. So later you discover your pliers on the breadbox, or on the top of the toilet tank.

Worst case is I have to do a Phase Three Search, which is essentially establishing all the places the object is not, and finding it eventually by elimination. At least I'm sure it's in my garage office - I had no plausible reason for moving it other than sorting things in the garage, and no reason at all for bringing it in the house.
