Judge Martin L. C. Feldman ruled against Obama’s moratorium on offshore drilling:
“The blanket moratorium, with no parameters, seems to assume that because one rig failed and although no one yet fully knows why, all companies and rigs drilling new wells over 500 feet also universally present an imminent danger,â€
Halleluiah! 120,000 jobs saved?- probably not.
This common sense decision (and breath of fresh air) is likely to be double tapped by the administration. Administration officials have come up with a two pronged “attack†(their words) against the ruling. The first step is to immediately appeal the decision and then issue another ruling banning offshore drilling.
It’s funny- Obama decided to sue the State of Arizona because they decided to enforce federal immigration laws. Now, within a few short days, he’s leveled his sights at a federal court for daring to agree with most of the country and reminding him that he must weigh the consequences of his political decisions against the adverse affects on the economy.
All this while trying to quash a lawsuit brought by 14 state attorney generals challenging the constitutionality of certain provisions of the healthcare reform bill. Anyone else see a pattern developing?
