Unfortunately, Petco in my town still sells animals. However, they do have dogs and cats for adoption on Saturdays from Wayside Waifs, a rescue organization.

I've never bought a pet from a pet store. Looking at them in their cages, I want to take them all home and love and feed and care for them. Nothing should have to live in a cage. Well, criminals but they made their choice. Pets don't.

I bought from a breeder when I bought my Beagle years ago. My then husband had brought home a puppy the 2nd year we were married from someone he knew on base whose dog had had a litter.

Pet mills should be outlawed.
