Biden makes gaffes, but that isn't what makes him an idiot. He doesn't seem to KNOW anything.
^"With the news media finally able to peruse her every move, they'd have had that bitch for breakfast."^
Maybe you were watching a different election? The media DID peruse her every move, and squads of reporters were assigned to find dirt on her. The attempted destruction of Sarah Palin was practically a full-time job for some outlets. They're still doing it. A reporter rented the house next to hers so he could watch her full time. Andrew Sullivan has gone certifiably nuts on the subject.
Meanwhile, Obama got a completely free ride through the entire election process, carried on the shoulders of tingly-legged anchormen all the way to the White House. As far as they were concerned, he came out of a plastic bubble in the summer of 2008 like a collectible action figure, and they weren't interested in his background, history, friends, associates, drug use, voting record, grades, college output, writings, or anything else that might put a little clay on his feet.
I have never seen a politician generate so much sheer mindless worship in my entire life. I'm not old enough to remember if JFK got that kind of treatment.
