Race politics is just another facet of "progressive" politics, and "progressive" ideas aren't looking too good right now. We are watching a political philosophy implode in real time, and none too soon. One might hope that this time the implosion is permanent, but public memories are short.
Political commentary on my part isn't much fun right now. It's almost like kicking an injured puppy. A lot of starry-eyed types around my neck of the woods who were looking for the Great Awakening once the Left had control of Washington are now, essentially, politically catatonic. They can't change their views, so they simply close up.
It's weirdly reminiscent of the reality check that hit the "Aquarians" back in the 60s, the ones who thought that a New Age was finally coming and that we could finally leave all that Western materialism and rationalism in the dust. Now imagine that all those stunned hippies aren't students or bedazzled young people, but the movers and shakers of society.

It's a "dog bites man" story at this point
