Canada weighs new jet purchase
Here.
Canada's in line to get 65 new fighter aircraft for $9B. Seems like a bargain to me. Even with maintenance bringing the overall cost to $16B, these jets would probably become the crown jewel of the Canadian military for years to come.
Canadians have been called "an unmilitary people," (which was neither intended nor taken as a slight) but for much of the 20th century Canada played a spectacular military role in world affairs. I for one would love to see them remain on the stage.
