Those who know much more than I about the mechanics of weather are still going back and forth about global warming and consequences. I suspect we wont' know for several thousand years when our progeny (if they survive) can look back and evaluate whether it was or was not global warming and what it did to our planet.
OTOH, someone sent me something a couple of days ago, in panic mode, about what the oil has supposedly done to the Gulf Stream ("this same oil river is causing Atlantic temperatures to drop by TEN DEGREES. This could trigger a new ICE AGE IN EUROPE, and perhaps worldwide.") However, once I tracked down the source of THAT, I totally discounted it and then threw up. Source Warning, you better have a strong stomach if you go to that site.
