I don't see it happening. People can be greedy, and sometimes some people let their personal wants coud their better judgement(if there is any); and see a world for only them. Some people are douches, and will simply not listen to reason or reality. Some people are cowardly and weak-willed, and will join the mobs and the masses for protection, comfort, and ease; always going with whatever others desire. Some people despair, and have given up hope for any better future, thinking that this is as good as the world is going to get, and that further effort is pointless; they just don't care anymore. And some people are clowns, who never take the world seriously, and just want to see it all burn for whatever whim.

But there are some people who DO give a damn about the world and want to make sure it stays in one piece, to make it better for their children and grandchildren and descendants after that, people wwho desire less for themselves then they would for others. They aren't sain't and they aren't sinners; they're just people who want to make a positive difference.

TB is right; what matters isn't whether we manage to succeed in making the world a better place, what matters is if we tried or not. And don't give me that Yoda crap. So at the very least, even if this future IS nigh impossible, we should at least make an effort.
