Numbers are your pal!

Heisenberg was an interesting character, though perhaps not as interesting as some historians have tried to make him appear.

(apologies if I'm just rehashing old news here. Perhaps this is exactly what NUMBERS went over, I'm not familiar with the program)

A few years back there was a movement that tried essentially to reform H's image. They claimed that the reason Germany didn't develop the bomb first was that H deliberately stalled and derailed work on the project. If that's true, it makes him a remarkable hero, a single individual who swung world history into an entirely different direction. See the book "Heisenberg's War" for more.

Sadly, further evidence has come to light that H took his Nazi Party membership very seriously, and did his best to give Hitler nuclear weapons. Lil' bastard. It seems that as bright as he clearly was, he was simply unable to put the peices together before his American counterparts could.

Personally though, I'm so taken with the image of H as slayer of the Nazi bomb that I still consider the jury out on this one.
