Re: Bull

What Americans think about Obama is a bit more significant than what various other nations think about Obama.

As for the economy, I'm talking about eight full years, including three consecutive years without a single monthly decrease in the payroll employment numbers, a stock market that peaked at around 14,000, and an average unemployment rate through all eight years of 5.3 percent. That's including the end of 2008, when the rate was 7.4 percent.

Not bad for a country that had to come back from the economic impact of a recession worsened by a major terrorist attack.

So far, Obama's average unemployment rate is 9.5 percent.

During Bush's two terms, $4.9 trillion was added to the national debt, and nobody here would argue that this was something to be proud of. Bush and the Republicans did almost nothing to cut the size of government.

But Obama and the Democrats have added $3 trillion, and he hasn't even wound up two years yet.

Democrats have been running the Congress since January of 2007, and running everything since January of 2009. And I predict that all you're going to hear next year from Obama is "I would have fixed everything this year if only the Democrats had kept power." He'll go into retirement believing it, and a lot of Democrat fans will go to their graves believing it.

You may know less about Herbert Hoover than you think you do. I recommend "The Forgotten Man" by Amity Shlaes. Check your library.
