Text scrambling Malware

My laptop (Dell Inspirion 630m) got hit with some sort of nasty malware yesterday.

It inserts "[" randomly, occasionally reverses the order of typed text, completely omits the letter "t" toggles caps on and off, every other letter, and backspace is disabled.

In Firefox and Chrome, it launches the "Find Text" feature when any text is entered, and you can't close it. In OpenOffice and Word, and Thunderbird, it launches spell check, with every keystroke.

Also, at random, the mouse will not click on objects in a browser, or other window.

I've run AVG, Malwarebytes, and ComboFix, to no avail, they don't even see a problem.

The scariest part is, I've searched forums like bleepingcomputer.com, and can find no trace of a similar invasion.

I'm close to reformatting, and reinstalling XP, but worried it might be hiding in the BIOS, or memory.

This is really nasty, if anyone has any ideas at all, I'd really appreciate it.
