The Apollo missions were expensive as ''f*ck'' And given all the cost cutting measures and the dangerous situations we out our astronauts in, we were lucky to scrape by with the skin on our teeth. Also, stuff costs a lot more now than it did back then. That's what "inflation" is about (Remember when being a millionare was a big deal?)

The US isn't the "greatest technological civilizaation of it's time by far, either. As you can see, most countries in Europe top us, who happen to be at #13 on the list. Saying we are is just a buncha bunk.
