The Left is in a psychological spasm, kicking out randomly in all possible directions.

"Obamacare" had two primary goals:

- The destruction of the private health care system under a mass of mandates and regulations

- Moving the population to the only alternative, a "public option."

They managed to set up the first part, but failed to set up the necessary "public option." Ideally, that was going to be fixed later but they pushed their luck too far.

Once the government controls your health care, they control your life. You think things like transfat laws are bad now, wait until the totalitarians can claim that your health is their responsibility.
