Lee asked 3 tough questions:
Should we ignore the criminal element?
If you think about it, all "undocumented" immigrants have committed a serious crime. You choose to look the other way.
We have to live by our laws or suffer the consequences. For the most part, our legal system is respected by the majority society, not tossed aside like a candy wrapper when we feel like it.
Should illegals be given medical care thus increasing the cost of care to those who pay for it? Should our tax dollars go to educate the children of people who are here illegally and should we pay for their bi-lingual education?
No.
Lastly, Should illegals be given the gift of a lift in lifestyle through various government assistance programs?
All these results of illegal immigration are at the tax payers’ expense. While you may be pleased that a portion of your taxes goes to these handouts, I’m not. Just because there are success stories doesn’t mean the above questions shouldn’t be asked----repeatedly.
Our system is not broken; it’s been overwhelmed by a huge tide of immigrants over the last 30 years. The answer is not to change or ignore our laws to accommodate the numbers, the answer is to enforce them.
