...and shades of gray.
My heart and my mind do not line up on this .
Right wrong or indifferent, I am proud of this young man. I simply chose to ignore all the legal..or illegal...mumbo jumbo.
I have the rare opportunity to see this on so many levels that I simply can not draw the line in the sand.
I live in Texas...where illegals are a mainstay. They are hard workers and deeply devoted to their families. They simply want a better life for their loved ones. I understand this. I have young adults in my life that were given all that was humanly possible, and continue to leech off society. An ex Zoner has been on unemployment for two years. He refuses to relocate, or even consider working two jobs. I simply can not wrap my head around this.
This young man is a success story. It is what I preach. Personal....PERSONAL accountability.
I look past all the legal ramifications...I see a bigger picture here...and not as a diminishing return.
...and to NOT change...not attempt to make it work...to not brainstorm for the benefit of all.... with the inevitability of the global diaspora.... is the real tragedy.
The Germans have the Turks...the English have the Pakastanis...This is not going away. Shall we spend money time and effort enforcing laws that are no longer realistic...or shall we gather around the round table and figure this dilemma out? We are Americans...indeed...but we are human, also.
