The Democrats after the 2008 elections held 59 seats in the Senate. Do they need to have 100 seats before they take some responsibility for what comes out of there? Besides, the power included a huge majority in the House, and the Presidency.
When Republicans controlled all three branches, they were accused of practically being dictators.
