See? You can't get past that idea. After all, look at how impossible it is to get illegal drugs in the U.S.

England had a low gun murder rate before they had the gun control laws. In Switzerland, everyone owns a military rifle by law, and they have a low gun murder rate. There are cities with rigid gun control laws in the U.S. that have very high gun murder rates. The statistics are more complex and have more variables than either side wants to admit, but giving more power to the government and putting more restrictions on the individual will not result in paradise in this issue either.
