The good presidents, in my opinion...
...tend to administer towards the opposite of where their own party's extremes go. A Republican will not do crazy right-wing stuff and might try to do things to improve the welfare of the population, etc. A democrat will not do crazy left-wing things and will try to keep ongoing wars from collapsing in an embarrassing pile of crap, etc.
There are lot of liberals who hate Obama.
