I like it but I think it would only work on a small scale. There are too many things that can (and would) go wrong when done on a large scale. Too many chances for cheating and manipulating results.

As far as mine being scary, in some ways it's something Tom would actually like because government would leave us the hell alone most of the time to live our lives and take care of business. Some limitations would be put on so that corporate moguls wouldn't make millions of dollars on failing companies while the shareholders and employees get screwed. And they wouldn't do the crap that led to our real estate bubble because they would know they'd be risking banishment.
