Info on MS research.
While MS is probably not caused by restricted blood flow, this does explain some of why Omega 3's and Primrose Oil may help MS patients. When I was diagnosed, my sister researched for me since I was unable to see to do it myself (my eyesight was badly affected). There was a man who was diagnosed with MS and ended up in a wheelchair and going downhill rapidly. He started using the "MS diet" which consisted only of natural foods, no red meats, no processed foods. Then he researched supplements, opened his own health food store as a result and there were many supplements he recommended. Some I took, most I didn't since I didn't have a health food store and couldn't afford them. But I did start taking Omega 3's and Evening Primrose Oil.
Everyone should be familiar with Omega 3's--it thins the blood, among other things. Evening Primrose Oil makes blood vessel walls more impermeable. So O-3's make the blood flow better and EPO makes sure the blood doesn't seep through the walls, creating strokes.
BTW, 20 years after diagnosis, the man referenced above was happily living in Florida and was out playing tennis regularly and leading a normal life. The MRI'd his brain and his lesions were so widespread that he should have been comatose, per the doctors. Yet he was strong, active and healthy.
