There are indeed a large cadre of brainless dupes in the environmental movement. But the leaders know exactly what the goal is. Destruction.
My dad was a big pollution control manager for Pillsbury and its Green Giant vegetable division. He spent the years before his retirement checking water, emissions, recycling efforts, and many other things.
I came back from college once, and sat down for a chat. My dad couldn't figure out what the environmentalists wanted. The company cleaned up its water, treated its waste, and did everything they could. The environmentalists continued to attack. Nothing the company did was ever enough.
I told him the answer. "Dad, they don't want your company to clean up its act. They want your company dead." He dismissed this with laughter, same as others have, and went back to his work still wondering what Pillsbury was doing wrong.
