So your premise is that "deer in the headlights" is the correct approach. Well, looks like we're going with it. We'll see how it works out.
Today is the 100th anniversary of Ronald Reagan's birth. Liberals have made a big deal about how Obama might be kind of like Reagan in some ways, but all they're talking about is Reagan's ability to talk to Americans, which they envy. Nothing to do with Reagan's actual fundamental principles and ideas, which drove his politics and life. Obama doesn't have that to draw on. As an academic pragmatist, when the wind blows, he flaps.
