Re: Re: Re: Jobs coming back

See? As Yoda might say, "That is why you fail." ALL history is relevant when deciding how to meet problems. Bush also walked into a recession, not to mention an actual attack on the country.

Certain sets of ideas work, and certain ones don't. History is useful in working this out. Real history, not the mythology some people have set up for themselves.

We have quite a bit of control over whether or not we can access our own energy supplies. Obama has been dedicated to the destruction of America's conventional energy industry since day one, and has said so once or twice. It's working. The Left is anti-oil, anti-coal, anti-natural gas, anti-nuclear, and in recent years, anti-hydropower. I can predict quite confidently that as soon as the "alternative" energy industry is big enough, they will also be anti-wind and anti-solar. In fact, this is already showing up in several places.

It's revealing listening to how the mainstream media has been treating this economy, compared to the one under most of Bush's term. With numbers that are arguably worse on almost every front, I hear upbeat news stories about how the "recovery" is progressing, and how this isolated number or that one looks good. Exactly the reverse of when Bush was president. Remember? The Worst Economy Since the Bering Bridge Sank, with 4.4 percent unemployment. Remember liberals telling us those were all "evil" jobs? Bet a lot of people wish now that there were more evil jobs around.

Everything Obama has done made bad numbers worse. His fundamental ideology is dead wrong. Stare at those graphs for a while. That's an economy under Democratic ideas. Remember Europe? Where 10 to 15 percent unemployment was long considered a "norm?"

You want a wake-up call on employment, go here and pick "discouraged workers." The chart only goes back to 1994, unfortunately.

We have Republicans running the House now. Let's see what happens.
