Not a bad idea, but why should all of us suffer because of a few assholes in Washington? How about sticking THEM with the giant tax surcharges or other punishments?

Better yet, every month the legislators go without a budget past the deadline gets a month chopped off their term (maybe more for Senators), and when they run out of time someone will be appointed in their place by the governor of their state. The bitch is that this will need a Constitutional amendment. Fining the hell out of them would be easier.

It irks me to hear Obama lecturing on timely budgets when the Democrats, who controlled everything at the time, were supposed to pass one last year.
