"And hey, "Fox" is sure a lot easier to spell than "E'Telekeli." "
That's true Tom...but I don't think anyone here save perhaps very few recognized the arcane and obscure significance "E'Telekeli" referenced.
It was not 'E-Telecommunication'
or 'Telekinesis' as some thought. ;-)
As for 23rd Century texts being of no use to me...I'LL be the judge of that! Thank you very much!
Yes, if the format were some new electronic medium...it might pose a problem. But think back to 1985 when the CD-ROM was invented (and/or first sold) - would it take a genius to figure out by looking at a CD that the recordings or data was designed to be read by light?
We surely have some very talented folks who could probably reverse-engineer a 23rd century technology and build something to extract some sort of useful data within six-months to a year.
Even a nanotechnology 'disk' or 'chip' or computer could probably be reverse engineered given enough resources and talent.
Heck the Japanese and now the Chinese reverse-engineer every darn technology and device, whether consumer or military, they can get their hands on.
Let SONY's labs have it for a few weeks or months and a slimmer, updated version will appear on the market for next Christmas ;-)
Best wishes,
SDAI-Tech1
It is fun to contemplate though....
