Water and Life on Mars and in the Universe.

February 13, 2002

We've been through this all before. On a fairly new HP pavillion running Windows ME and Netscape Communicator 4.79, with the screen size set to 800 by 600, your javascripts fail, utterly and miserably. It's your problem, not mine. I have no problem cluttering up your pathetic Flame BBS with my pathetic 'top' posts.

No cut and paste, no nothing. Straight HTML would be better than this.

As far as water and bacteria on Mars, once you get comfortable with the 'dynamic' Mars theory, deducing bacterial life is nearly a trivial observation. In fact, it was my discovery of the absence of shorelines and stormatolite remains in the MGS high resolution photographs, that forced me to reevalute my preconceptions about the evolutionary geological history of Mars, in quite different directions than Nick took. I am not operating and theorizing without evidence here.

Once you get comfortable with water and bacteria, and understand that most everything is covered up with massive glacial deposites, then it is a simple matter to reevaluate the photos, and all kinds of easily interpreted features stand out. Frozen Geysers. Liquid extrusions, etc. And many features that some simpletons write off as 'contrast enhancement', that can only be bacterial in origin. Even reevaluation of old Viking data suddenly starts to make a whole lot more sense than the standard geochemical arguments.

I know that water once flowed on Mars in copious quantities, and I know that bacterial remains occur on Mars, just like I knew that planets orbited other stars, and just like I knew that Bose-Einstein condensation was more than just a mathematical curiousity, and just how I know there is life in the universe; by deduction and observation. Demonstration via experimental and observational evidence is always sure to follow, if one has any confidence at all in the theory and the evidence. I have great confidence in my ability to observe and associate.

You SkepticalRedneckZone groupies are just too close minded and reactionary to listen to what the universe is trying to tell you.
