personally responsible for Gates' fortune
I'm running Win2K on my workstation at work (networked into several NT servers), and run Win98SE, ME and now XP as well at home. (All legal, btw.)
Gates owns me.
By way of an early report on XP, so far so good. Seems very stable if one seeks out the recommended updates. I haven't (yet) been visited by any of the horror stories I've heard of and witnessed. So far the most crash-prone software I've used under XP is IE! All of its face-plants thus far have been as graceful as possible (no blue screen).
And thankfully, the cartoon-like GUI can be toned down.
