eb, I hope, is still wasted. It would be a better explanation than he isn't. More charitable, kinder, offering hope. Sort of a compassionate liberalism. 'Cause if he's not wasted, if he's that way without assistance, well, that's too horrible to contemplate.
And he's "special", no matter what.
