An unusual approach
400 years in the future, man has spread all over the galaxy. No ETI has been found and so far they haven't even mentioned the subject. Most of the planets and moons colonized have required terraforming. The colonies have a definite wild west flavor and crime is rampant.
Space is dead silent but, alas, the ships, planets and moons all appear to be 1 G.
