Contrary to most media reports, inclement winter weather generally SAVES lives, not the other way around. It's simple statistics. Fewer people are out driving around and that means fewer fatal traffic accidents (keeping in mind that the vast majority of traffic accidents during a typical snowstorm are minor fender benders, cars in ditches, etc., not fatal crashes). There's also evidence that fewer murders are committed during bad winter weather.
Headlines such as "Snowstorm kills 20" are just a lie to increase ratings.
