<I hate to break this to you, but I could probably find you thirty such sites in as many minutes. There are times when after a day of browsing you just want to buy the largest handgun you can find and go live under the bed.
A handgun under the bed is not going to do much good. These folks like Gene Ray are not a danger to you, me or Matt, but a danger to the folks like Sam, who surf the web see a site with outrageous claims and believe since it's on the web it must be real or possible.
The net is the great forum. The insane and deluded can expose the passersby to their beliefs. And yes, there are a million and one such venues for as many different forms of insanity - from paranoia to god complexes and beyond.
I would like to think that almost everyone has the ability to filter that - but I realize that they can often delude about 50 people. In this world, you can find fifty people who will believe anything.
Flat-earthers: at least 50 people
Heaven's Gate: at least 50 people
Bush set up 9-11: at least 50 people
Planet X Niburu: at least 50 people
There are probably 50 people who believe Gene Ray is the most intelligent person on earth.
Those 50 people are likely tragic cases, like the one who chased his own mother into a corner to confess that she, a teacher, signs an affidavit before she teaches that she will never reveal the truth of Gene Ray's assertions.
I always am nonplussed when people tell someone to go to hell - when it's quite obvious (according to your map as well) that all the types of people that occupy hell are already here!
Somewhere along the way we would see how Gene fell off the tracks. It is more sad than scary. Maybe he went insane trying to figure out a Rubik's cube back in 1980?
