Re: Citation

Pay attention. I never said there was no discrimination in Israel, I said it was religious rather than racial, and religious discrimination in the Mideast is pretty much a full-time occupation in all of the nations.

I am also not so naive as to think that just because a law in Israel or anywhere else says everyone is equal, that it means there is no "informal" discrimination taking place. Ask any black person.

But the point I was making was not that discrimination does not exist, it was that your statistic (actually the statistic of your sources) on 92 percent of land in Israel being off-limits to Arabs is wrong.

And no one was arguing the point that the JNF land (12 percent) is more or less off-limits to everyone except Jews. That is what their charter says, whether you think this is right or not. But the JNF does not own 92 percent of Israel.

What would happen if Ashcroft were able to say that in the US Muslims couldn't rent or lease government property?

Actually, given the current odd interpretation of the First Amendment, I wouldn't be surprised if someday no religious organization was allowed to rent or lease government property.

I appreciate that you believe in the sincerity of my opinions, but I do seem to use up one hell of a lot of time and page space trying to simplify and explain those opinions so you actually understand what they are.

I have no idea if anyone else reads these back-and-forths...it may be that most of the posters here avoid the Brosz and Bowser Show the same way as I avoid the two-page-long flame arguments about what's what on Mars. Still, I wonder if anyone else is having as much difficulty following my arguments.
