Old Texas
If you have old ties in Texas, might I recommend the comic-histories of Texas by Jack Jackson. Hard to find now, but last known publisher was Kitchen Sink Press, now at Deniskitchen.com. He lists Jackson's work on a page as "coming soon."
A sample cover and page can be found here.
