I don't think the Texans are anything to be afraid of, but the Oregonians sound smart.
There's a strip of land there, runs north through Spokane, up to Colville, and over the Polson and Bonner's Ferry which is extremely right wing. Used to be large billboards urging getting out of the UN and impeaching Earl Warren. In most elections, if there are 100 voters, there are 110 votes for the freethinking dittoheads. Judges, as in parts of the US, vote twice.
