California emissions bill

I personally think that many people could use a good, hard winter on the North Dakota plains in a hide yurt, burning shit for fuel, and maybe digging holes in the frozen prairie to bury their dead kids out back, just in order to raise their consciousness a bit about technical civilization. Better yet, about ten consecutive winters. Breathing the crystal-clean air at twenty below zero.

Almost every last person I have seen screeching about our use of oil and our evil technical society is a fat, spoiled American who has never seen a hungry day in their entire life. Most of them, finding a callus on their hands, would go to the doctor fearing cancer. Damn few of them do not drive cars or fly planes.

Get a clue. This law has nothing to do with resources, or CO2, and never did. The people currently running the show in the environmental movement, which pushed this law, basically want humanity dead, or failing that, scrabbling along in some grub-eating Third World existence. Except, as always, for those people who run the show, who will need a few more resources like dachas, limos, and the good food to get their very important jobs done.

Go ahead. YOU stop burning oil. Stop riding in buses, driving cars, flying in planes. Oh, yeah. And don't use anything made of plastic, synthetic rubber, synthetic fibers, etc. Or maybe you think the oil YOU use is okay, but other folks are using too much.

BTW, I am going to the Black Hills on Wednesday sometime, driving my big, fat gasoline-powered CO2-emitting Eurovan. I considered a three-month ride in a Conestoga wagon pulled by four big, fat, CO2-and-methane-emitting oxen, but rejected the idea. I will be camping out there in a cabin, which like all camping out, is only fun because you can eventually go home from it. See first paragraph above.

Typical fatass Eurovan. Not mine--mine has honor roll stickers all over the back, a big flag, and Bush-Cheney and NRA stickers in the rear window. The rear bumper sports a sticker that says, "Politically Incorrect and Proud of It."

My viewpoint as I am about to Despoil Nature with my foul human existence!
