Restoring public confidence.

Just watched an interview on PBS. Regarding the legislation to clean up corporate practices, turns out the current administration has left out, on purpose, a provision which would make accountants and attorneys also liable if they aided and abetted a fraud.

If, for instance, the accountants and lawyers at WorldCom helped figure out how to perpetrate the fraud, and if their opinions enabled the fraud, they could be also held responsible for the fraud.

Not now. They are, apparently, home free. Hard to believe.
