Well, I wasn't, really.

"but to look to the most corrupt accountants in all history for guidance is naive to the point of utter stupidity"

I was talking about purchasing stock in publically held companies. It seems to me that when one is purchasing stock one has to rely upon the public information as verified by responsible parties.

When those responsible parties deceive, when they are irresponsible, I believe there should be accountability.

I would think that would be especially true for publically licensed accountants and lawyers. I don't think it's right for the administration to leave them out of the mix. People need to rely upon their information.

And, it's tough for an administration as "dirty" as this to have any perspective on white collar crime.

Social Security IS a mess. It is also backed by the greatest fundraising organization in the world. Not saying that's right, proper, correct, fair, or just. Just is.

You want to see someone raise money. Uncle Sugar is unsurpassed.
