Now you're just being nutty.

This is the same sort of crap I saw on looney right-wing sites before Clinton left office, with bizarre and elaborate scenarios about how he would do anything to stay in office for a third term.

There is absolutely no objective evidence, or even a vague inkling, that George W. Bush is the power-crazed totalitarian maniac that the Left is desperately trying to paint him as (projection again?). At the same time, with their usual disdain for logic or intellectual consistency, they are also trying to paint him as an ineffective dimbulb who needs to label his shoes to get them on the right feet. Pick one and run with it, guys.

Bush may have faults, but as any objective observer would agree, power lust ain't one of them. Of course, if the Left repeats it often enough, maybe it will stick. It seems to work with other lies.

It's Democratic politicians who love political power over all else (for the good of the people, of course)...that's why they join that party in the first place.

It was painfully obvious during the last Presidential election which of the two candidates wanted the office at all costs and would have almost nothing left of his existence if he lost, and which one would have shrugged, and gone home to his real life to fix the fences and chop weeds.

Unfortunately, our political system tends to select for the first type of person, and the second type weeds itself out by having values more important to them than politics (so long, J. C. Watts...)
