Re: Well, just to touch on the first topic . . .

Careful. This was not meant to be PC, merely C.

We've learned that Bush&Co.'s "war on terrorism" has morphed from finding and destroying those responsible for the 9/11 mass-murders to a worldwide campaign to install a Pax Americana, by force if necessary.

What a mouthful...

First of all, Bush&Co = America. There's just no getting around the fact that this really is the president of the United States of America, a duly elected office which is supported by the majority votes of the nation. What this means is that "Bush&Co.'s 'war on terrorism'" is really America's war on terrorism, and duly supported by the majority of American voters, and therefore is the war of the American people. We're behind it 100%, simply because, in a democracy, the majority rules. And this Pax Americana is being installed by force if necessary, and in some places around the globe we find it to be more necessary than others. Too many nations have shown an inability to police themselves, and so they sit idly by on their hands while the crimes they can no longer control, or simply do not wish to fight, spill out across international borders to affect U.S. interests and allies -- and we’ve been idly sitting on our hands entirely too long.

Sorry if, from time to time, a police department needs to step in and say enough is enough, but there you have it. Enough has finally become enough.

In other words, neo-imperialism, reminiscent in many ways of the old Roman Empire or, closer to our own time, the British Empire.

Thankfully, very true.

Dan (it really could be a wonderful future -- if only more could visualize it)
