Good timing

Doesn't it seem a little odd to you that this titanic and wonderful battle plan only shows up now? I heard nothing whatsoever on this entire subject in the first nine months of the Bush administration prior to Sept. 11, either from Bush's people, or the Democrats, who could have made hay with it. Nor had I heard anything about it from Sept. 11 to now, which considering the political potential, seems a bit odd too.

The Democrats and the press have gone into chain gun mode, rapid-firing accusations, innuendos, implications, and just plain word associations at Bush, certain that something has to stick. The objective is to place in the voters mind an association with George W. Bush personally with pretty much any rotten thing that has happened in this nation in the past two years.

One specific conclusion being deliberately forced on less than discerning minds is that if it weren't for Bush, WTC would not have happened.

At the same time, in the past few weeks, Clinton has been totally reconstructed into the Master Anti-Terrorist president, which is news to those of us who watched him through his eight-year presidency.

I still don't think that any of the supposed "lost opportunities" would have changed the events of September 11. When these plans were being considered, the WTC operation was already in progress in the U.S., and even nuking Afghanistan into dust at that point may not have changed a thing.
