Read it again - it was the Sandy Berger Plan, not the Clinton plan
Of course it's true that both Republicans and Democrats were asleep and oblivious to the growing threat of radical Islamic terrorism that finally culminated with Sep. 11th.
But don't give Clinton any credit here. Sandy Berger was practically alone and preaching in the desert. He tried time and time again to raise the awareness of the Al Queda menace and get tough action, but nobody listened to him. And yes, go ahead and blame the Congressional Republicans as well. They were more interested in Bill Clinton's penis than they were in Osama Bin Laden...
