Serving the poor and the lower middle class.

Yep life in the boonies suits some folks better - they don't have to mingle with lots of people.

They can rail about the big evil chains like McDonalds and Safeway and evil Las Vegas. Did it occur to you that the more people vacation in Vegas - the less pollution is caused by traveling halfway round the world in big chemtrail leaving, fuel consuming jets.

You think things halfway out. But halfway is not good enough. You take away Vegas and you have the local corruption and mafia return to the larger cities. At least in Vegas the government gets its share of taxes on these monies. It keeps vice in check where you can see it.

If you live in a city, you soon see how many of the poor make ends meet by buying special priced 39c hamburgers from McDonalds and 49c tacos from Taco Bell. I have seen urban families pile the kids into the car and drive away with a meal for all.

Having lived and worked in highly urban areas I also noticed how markets and liquor stores gouge those who have no cars and are stuck in some poor part of a big city.

Cars are GOOD. Oil to keep them runnig cheaply is GOOD. McDonalds or Taco Bell or Jack in the Box or Wendy's are GOOD things for a society to have.

Fast food certainly is not the healthiest but many can't afford to buy the healthy low fat, lean meats etc that we pay premiums for.

In the Desert like Vegas - water is a necessity for survival as it is here in Phoenix. The dry air (often 6% humidity) dries you out unless you drink ten glasses a day.

Many of the poor need to work in the cities wher more low paying jobs can be found.

As a compassionate liberal, looking out for the little guy, surely you understood this?
