As for the minimum wage, I don't know the recent history of it, except it hasn't risen along with the cost of living like it should. Evil Republican legislators have refused to raise the minimum wage; they're being "pro-business" and "anti-family".
Give me a break!
I don't know what community you live in, but blue collar workers here in Florida are still under $7 an hour. Older parents without a degree or a stroke of luck are having a hard time raising two kids with a combined income of under $25,000-$30,000 annually, considered to be poverty level.
Add to that no health care and you have a whole class of people who are being kept down by thriving capitalists. Not to mention being purged from voting polls with the likes of Katharine Harris.
