forgive me if I'm wrong...

...but as an Abrahamic religion--as are Christianity and Judaism--isn't Islam also monotheistic?

After all, it's "Allah is great," not "Allah and all his buddies are a super bunch."

And sure, we can thank the Islamic world for many fundamental contributions, such as algebra (the cliche example, I know, and for which I was certainly not thankful when I was in high school).

But when looking at Islamic and Arabic contributions to the world, we seem to have to dig back at least a few hundred years for a good example. According to many writers and observers (many of whom are Arabs themselves), this is a source of intense frustration--shame, even--for much of the Arab world.

Not being a practicing Christian, I'll leave its defense to others more qualified. (Except to simply ask, why is it ok to criticize Christianity, but say something critical of Islam and you're a bigot?)
