<Perhaps Al Queda would not have become as widespread and extreme if some of the concerns of the Muslim world against rampant westernisation had been addressed?
I'm supposed to let a culture that flays the heads of their enemies, beats and kills their women, executes their people at the slightest whim, punishes free thought, and generally stands as a sterling example of what civilization isn't, tell me about the evils of "westernisation?" "Rampant westernisation" is probably the only hope of the victims of these regimes, and these regimes know it.
Try this one on for size:
"Perhaps the abuses and lynchings of the Ku Klux Klan would not have become as widespread and extreme of some of the concerns of the South against rampant integration had been addressed?"
Same difference.
Al-Quaeda is not about getting the vote for terrorists, or some kind of political complaint. It's about eliminating all intelligent life forms that do not subscribe to their specific viewpoints.
Please go back and read this letter again, and tell us where the room for compromise lies.
