Re: Yes.. Canadian anti-US sentiment.

And there are no Americans who think Bush is a moron? The political cartoon I posted below is by an American, the calendar of "Bushisms" is American... why do some Americans get so touchy when someone from outside says something other than "Bush is God"?

I personally have never said nor intimated that the US deserved 9-11; nobody ever deserves anything like that and I don't think any even semi-intelligent person would say that. There may be discussions as to US poilcies and actions that may have precipitated terrorist actions, but that's not the same as saying the US deserved what it got.

No one in Canada that I know "kow tows" to Queen Elizabeth; the monarchy is sometimes quite hotly debated here, but a lot of people look on it as an old and fascinating tradition, which has value for that alone. The average Canadian pays about $1 per year to support all the functions of the monarchy in Canada - not a bad deal as far as I'm concerened. Britain, of course, has far less real influence over Canada than does the US anyway.

I am definitely not anti-USA - some of my best friends really are Americans and I've enjoyed many visits to the US. I'm not thrilled with some Americans, including some of the leaders, and a lot of American policies and actions leave a lot to be desired, but being critical is hardly being anti-American.

And I realize that you may simply being "your way" as entertainment, but whatever.
