Mass Transit: the socialist fantasy
An article in my paper was criticizing our local Transit Authority for covering only 16 percent of its costs with fare revenues. The author would like to see our local transit reach the same average ratio as the more profitable transit authorities in the rest of the country: 30 percent.
*sigh*
I put out a challenge once for someone to point out ONE public transit system that actually made more money than it cost. No takers so far.
To the Left, mass transit is a major victory of collectivism over the hated individualism of the personal automobile. They'd like you to think it's just the pollution. It isn't.
