I know the youth services librarian there. We worked together on a committee for a state-wide summer reading program not too long ago.
We had a recent leak in a snow-burdened roof, with the loss of only 3 dozen or so picture books, and I was furious! Our maintenance chief didn't want to be anywhere near me for a while.
I also walked into my basement (climate-controlled, SDAI), where our family library is located, after a family trip to find five inches of standing water. It was a ruptured pipe in the laundry room. I went completely hermitile, even though the furniture damage was the most significant thing. (That was several years ago.)
I can imagine how she feels.
