Gotta part ways with the right on this one.
The first trimester fetus is not sentient and is no more a person than my morning yard egg is a baby chick. There are many social and personal issues involved with carrying a fetus to term. It is not always just a simple matter of having the baby and putting it up for adoption.
I am old enough to remember the illegal abortion market and no reasonable person would want to go back there.
I will admit that late term abortion is a more complex issue.
The best course for right to life proponents is to support research into creating an environment outside the woman's body that would give a more reasonable alternative to abortion.
