Why do I get into "debates" with MR and the ilk? It always ends with their sad self-exposure of their own sick perceptions and my arguing down to their level.

sometimes this can be fun.

different places server different purposes.sometimes it feels good to go over there and rant against some folks. Perhaps it releives some stress. I often wonder why someone as qualified and smart as Keith goes there to keep repeating to one or other people "its just rocks". Who knows, but folks wouldn't do this if they didn't feel the urge to do so. MSNBC fills a niche perhaps? it used to be a niche for discussing space, now its a niche for yelling at lunatics.

I can't imagine how this would affect anyone here, and don't quite understand why it is a ground for apology.

that is a good point, yelling at them can be theraputic at times, but it does take up a bit of freetime.
